Niedersachsen (English: Lower Saxony) is a German federal state located in the north-west of the country.
Within this federal state you'll also find the city state of Bremen, and in the north bordering to Schleswig-Holstein the city state of Hamburg. Niedersachsen consists of a lot of rural areas. The most important highways cross the state in the south (A2 (direction west-east) and in the west the A1 direction north-south.
