Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (English: Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania or Mecklenburg-West Pomerania) is a German federal state (german Bundesland) in the north-east of Germany. Due to its lengthy name, the state is often abbreviated as MV, and sometimes also shortened to Meck-Pomm.
It adjoins to Poland in the east, Brandenburg in the south, Niedersachsen in the west and Schleswig-Holstein in the north-west. It's capital is Schwerin.
You can find the Mecklenburgischen Seenplatte there, an rural area with beautiful lakes. In total you can find over 2,000 lakes in this rural state.
