LogbookHitchhikers' Guide to Hitchhiking is a collaborate project to build an encyclopedia for the needs of hitchhikers. It's a compilation of tips about good hitchhiking places, knowledge about hitchhiking possibilities in different countries, general knowhow about what to pack and when to go, what to eat and how to stay safe. The inspiration to this project came from the wikipedia-project and the marvellous book of Douglas Adams - the Hitchhiker's guide to galaxy. The idea is to use the open Wiki system to gather information the same way wikipedia does to result to a guide similar to the imaginary Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy is in the books of Adams: a guide that knows it all and is allways up to date. Every Hitchhiker is not only a user but also a possible contributor - a correspondent of the guide with the best possible first hand knowledge. This is not a worrk of a single mind, it's a work done by all the hitchhikers for the benefit of all the hitchhikers. Every visitor can add her / his knowledge and edit the existing pages to make them even better! Under ConstuctionThe Hichhiker's guide is taking it's first baby steps, so the content is scarce and not too organized. It will get better, as more hitchhikers contribute. Feel free to start today! How to contributeEasiest way to contribute to the Guide at this point is to write an entry - point a good spot to hitchhike in yout home town or give a tip about something else you feel would be good for hitchhikers to know. To create a new entry, you need to create a link first. To do this as easy as possible, there is a page for new entries where you can just add your link. So, PRESS HERE to get more info. You can also check the Top 10 Tips -page to see if you have something to add.
