Hitching around

When travelling along Ruta 5, there's basically only one option. When entering the city coming from Canelones, you'll encounter a roundabout with an ANCAP service station. At this spot, you should get out to hitchhike further towards Durazno, or on the other side of the roundabout, hitchhike back towards Montevideo. When coming from the north, it is recommended to ask the driver to let you out at this roundabout, and not earlier, as it might include quite some walk until you'll find a decent hitchhiking spot to avoid all the local city traffic.
