Hitchhiking out
South towards Saratov and Volgograd via R228
- You can get to the M5 highway and drive to the Syzran interchange.
- You can take the Ring Road via 50 Let Oktyabrya Avenue. The "Yugo-Zapadnaya" (Southwest) stop is the furthest out, served by buses 1, 18, 28, and 28K, and minibuses 27, 35, 40, 18D. From Gagarina Avenue, return to the highway and travel 3 km by local transport.
North towards Ulyanovsk from M5
- Go to the "OAO Syzranmoloko" stop by buses 6 and 30 or minibuses 32, 33, 35. From the last stop, walk or hitchhike 1.5 km to the Ulyanovsk intersection.
West towards Penza, Ryazan, and Moscow via M5
- There is a police post (DPS) at the Syzran interchange. Bus 10.
East towards Tolyatti, Samara, Ufa, Chelyabinsk via M5
- The last city bus stop is "Posyolok Sormovskiy" (buses 9, 9D, and minibus 27). From this settlement to the intersection with the M5 is about three kilometers. The traffic flow should be good.
- If you need to get directly to Samara, it's much faster and more reliable to take the local electric train, avoiding traffic jams on the dam and at the city entrance.
