Borne is a city in Netherlands, in the east of the province Overijssel.
Hitching out
North towards Almelo, Deventer, Amsterdam / South towards Enschede

Walk about 2km from the city centre on the Azelosestraat and later turn left towards Kluft to exit 29 on the A 1. Here you'll find a good spot in both directions. The first on-ramp you'll encounter goes towards Deventer and Amsterdam, try to get a ride which will take you at least to the service station Struik. From here it will be easy to find rides deep into the Netherlands.
The second ramp takes you towards Enschede and Hengelo. Be aware that at this onramp you enter the highway just after it has split into A 1 and A 35 so it is not usefull for going to Oldenzaal and Osnabrück.
East towards Oldenzaal, Germany

Take bus #51 towards Hengelo and get off at IKEA. Alternatively you can walk 2km again. Cross the highway on the overpass to make sure you're hitching in the right direction. This is a worse spot compared to the one described above, but with far more traffic.
The next service station is Lonnekermeer.
