Hitchhiking in
- From Rostov-on-Don Option A: Travel on the federal highway M4 "Don", pass through Korenovsk, immediately after which there is a federal road №160 to the left. By this road, through Ust-Labinsk and Belorechensk, you reach Maykop. Distance from Rostov-on-Don to Korenovsk is 220 km, from Korenovsk to Maykop is 130 km.
- From Rostov-on-Don Option B: Travel on the federal highway M4 "Don" to the stanitsa Pavlovskaya, from where the federal highway R217 "Kavkaz" begins. Continue along it to Armavir, after the bypass, turn right towards Labinsk. From there the road leads directly to the capital of Adygea. This option is also convenient when traveling from Mineralnye Vody or Stavropol. Distance from Rostov-on-Don to Armavir is 300 km, from Armavir to Maykop is 120 km.
- From Krasnodar via the M4 "Don", reach Adygeysk, do not enter the town, then continue towards the Ryazanskaya stanitsa. From there, take the right turn to Belorechensk; then take road 160 to Maykop. Distance from Krasnodar to Adygeysk is 30 km, from Adygeysk to Belorechensk is 70 km, from Belorechensk to Maykop is 30 km.
- From Apsheronsk: If you are coming from the Black Sea coast towards Maykop, you need to go through Apsheronsk. There are two main ways to reach Apsheronsk: from Dzhubga via Goryachy Klyuch and Stanitsa Saratovskaya; or from Tuapse via Khadzhokh. For further travel to Maykop, you need the southern exit from Apsheronsk towards Guamka and Mezmay. The landmark is the Convent in honor of the "Indestructible Wall" Icon of the Mother of God. Distance from Apsheronsk to Maykop is 45 km.
- There is a route from Mezmay to the checkpoint of the Caucasian Biosphere Reserve, on the territory of Lago-Naki, and then to Dahovskaya stanitsa. Or via Temnolesskaya, also to Dahovskaya and Kamennomostsky. This way is not fast and includes traveling on old forestry roads. It's ideal for those who started walking from the Black Sea coast and, after passing the famous 30th all-Union route, reach the Lago-Naki plateau. From there, after descending through Partizanskaya Polyana to Guzeripl, you can catch a ride to Maykop. The road Guzeripl-Khamyshki-Dakhovskaya-Kamennomostsky-Maykop is good asphalt with impressive views of Mountainous Adygea. Distance from Guzeripl to Maykop is 85 km.
- There is a road under construction: from stanitsa Nizhnegorodskaya to Mezmay (as of spring 2016, construction is not complete). You can pass it, but 7-8 km before Mezmay, it becomes a dirt road. From Mezmay to Temnolesskaya, it's only possible by off-road vehicles. If traveling via Lago-Naki, communicating with local foresters is necessary, as unauthorized access to the reserve is prohibited. Round-the-clock reserve phone: +7 918 4901812.
