To Sevilla, Spain
Hitching from the center of Lagos will be hard. I have tried it many times, and it seems that the only good way is to walk on the main avenue all the way passing a dozen crossroads until you get to that big roundabout that goes to the motorway towards [[Faro]] and [[Lisbon]].
Walking from the center of Lagos along that long road will take approx 30minutes. You can try and hitch on the way, but you'll probably have to walk until there. No sign is required as people who stop always ask you where you are going even if you have a sign.

=== To Sevilla, Spain ===
On the highway from Lagos to Spain there are not many cars going and most of them are going just localy so it can take you a lot of time to leave Portugal. On the highway there are 4 gas stations in Portugal(on the third station you can dumpster dive some nice baguetes and snadwitches) and some more in Spain. I expected that it will take me only few hours to get to Sevilla but finaly I spent 2 nights on the way! But I was there in december, maybe in summer it could be better.
