There's a petrol station next to the railway station, you just have to cross the bridge. There you can find a lift to Visulahti, which is a few kilometers away. Hitch-hike from the crossroad of the Visulahti camping area, there are bus stops at both sides of the road.
Towards Pieksämäki use bus stop after the crossroad Juvantie and road 72.
