Achinsk (Russian: Ачинск) is a city in Russia, located in Krasnoyarsk Krai. It is the administrative center of the Achinsky District and urban district of Achinsk. The city is situated on the Chulym River and is the third most populated locality in the region after Krasnoyarsk and Norilsk. It is 160 km west of Krasnoyarsk, on the spurs of the Arga ridge, on the right bank of the Chulym River (a right tributary of the Ob), where it meets the Trans-Siberian Railway.

Hitchhiking out
East towards Krasnoyarsk via A255
- Take bus 5 to the intersection where it turns left from Dzerzhinskogo street to the Vostochny settlement. Then walk straight along Dzerzhinskogo; the hitchhiking spot is about 800 meters after the traffic light. Better option: take bus 116 to this traffic light (bus continues further to Malinovka).
West towards Mariinsk and Kemerovo via A255
- Take the tram to AGK, get off near the mentioned cafes (on the right, one of them is called “Merkuriy”).
South towards Uzhur and Troitskoye (regional road 04K-003)
- Take buses 1, 6, 7, 116, or 117 to the “Yuzhnaya promzona” (South industrial zone) stop, immediately after the overpass.
North towards Achinsk oil refinery
- Hitchhiking via Neftyanikov highway.
Hitchhiking in
If you are passing through Achinsk by city-stop, it is recommended to use the bypass: coming from east to west, at the first traffic light turn left, go a few kilometers past the forest and cemetery, then right into a residential area along Prigorodnaya Street, which becomes an overpass over the railway. Continue straight down 5 Iyulya Street for 2 km to an overpass above you (this is the road to Nazarovo, but you go straight). After another 2 km you will reach Kravchenko Street with tram tracks—turn right here. After 400 meters, take a left turn where there are several cafes. This is the spot for Bogotol, Kemerovo, and Novosibirsk. For the reverse direction, use the same key points.
