Hitchhiking out

North towards Tomsk via R400

  • Cross the station using the pedestrian bridge and keep moving north for about a kilometer until you reach the intersection with Antibesskaya street. This is the Tomsk road. There is a petrol station at the city exit.

East towards Achinsk and Krasnoyarsk via M53

  • Mariinsk is extremely difficult to pass through. If you end up in the city, it makes sense to get to the railway station and take bus No. 102, which runs on schedule. Take it to the "chapel" stop, located in Pristan-2. That's where the highway begins, and it's a well-lit segment. If bus No. 102 is a long wait, you can take any bus to the bridge, cross the river, and walk to Pristan-2. Go all the way through the village to the "chapel" stop.

Southwest towards Kemerovo and Novosibirsk via M53

  • On the city exit, there is a memorial to the victims of Siblags and next to it, the cafe "Stary Mariinsk". Head out via Kotovskogo street.

Hitchhiking in

  • Entering Mariinsk is inevitable when traveling on the M53 (now R255) "Sibir", as the city is one of the few that still does not have a bypass, and the highway winds through the city center. There is a sort of bypass for trucks, which goes through a railway crossing that is very often and for long periods blocked by a gate. You might have to wait several hours.
