Wittlich is a small town in the federal state Rhineland-Palatinate in the very west of Germany. The main rail station is not inside of the town, but in Wengerohr, about 4 km outside of the town. Getting dropped in Wittlich can be better than getting dropped at the Raststätte Eifel, where you can expect almost no traffic.

Hitchhiking out
North-East / South-West (Koblenz/Trier)
Use the motorway entrance ramp Wittlich Mitte in direction Koblenz and place yourself there. Cars can also stop here and you will only get the traffic which is really going the right way.
North-West (Bitburg, Belgium)
There is a roundabout at the entrance of the speedway on the B50/E 42 between Wengerohr and Platten. You can stand there to hitch in direction Belgium - it is a 5 km walk from the center and 2km from the rail station.
