Miass (Russian: Миасс) is a city in Russia, located in Chelyabinsk Oblast in the Urals.

Hitchhiking out

South towards Chelyabinsk and the M5 motorway via road 75K-162

  • Four buses go along the "Ural" highway: №10, 393, 394, 414. However, they do not stop on the highway. The nearest stop is "pos. Traktovy". You can either get off at this stop and reach the city entrance sign by walking/hitchhiking, or ask the driver to let you off near it.

North towards Karabash and Kyshtym via road 75K-015

  • The farthest is minibus №297. Ask the driver to drop you at the turn to the village Novotagilka.
  • Slightly closer, to Severnye Pechi village, minibus №296 turns off. Your stop is called "Turn."

East towards Chebarkul via road 75K-021

  • Bus №3 goes to Chebarkul itself.
  • Bus №8 ends at the "Zapovednik" stop at the exit from Miass. So do minibuses №39 and 66.
  • The 2008km railway stop is near the road just outside the city.

West towards Zlatoust via road 75K-343 "Miass Trakt"

  • The key position is the intersection of the Miass Trakt and Gotwald St., where the "Khutorok" cafe and a gas station are located. You can take buses №6, 6K or minibuses №36, 6, 60, 63, 66, 68 to the "pos. Dinamo" stop. From Dinamo you can walk along Gotwald St. to the tract to start hitchhiking, as there are no further public transport routes there.
  • Alternatively, you can reach the road via Turgoyak. Minibus №391 will take you to the "Yuzhno-Uralskaya" stop, which is already on the Miass Trakt.
