I hope I'm writing in the right place, to make a criticism - I'm very surprised that Bulgaria and Romania are listed together for making your ratings. OK, they are two separate countries, of course. But more importantly I think they are very different for hitching. I live in Bulgaria and would rate it 'very good' (i can leave a comment later.) But I have heard that hitching in Romania is not good at all. Unfortunately i don't have first hand experience in Romania, but anyway I think they deserve to be separate!!

I like hh in Romania and I found it quite easy (compared to e.g. Hungary and Croatia). --Alex 15:21, 14 April 2008 (CEST)
I also heard that hitching there is easy. Only thing might be that people sometimes want some payment or sth., don't know exactly. I guess User:TruckThor can tell us about this :) Or read the Romania article. As far as I know a lot of people hitchhike there, same like in Bulgaria (which was a great country for hitching :D ) platschisite, wikitalk 20:55, 15 April 2008 (CEST)
People do not ask, but it might sometimes expected as some gesture of friendship. Most people did not even look how much you gave (everybody gives as much as he can afford or finds appreciated), but the good will counts. But this was only our impression, sometimes we did give something, sometimes we did not not (as I get a coffee etc. for the driver in Germany sometimes too). You can also state from the beginning that you are a real hitchhiker and do not want to pay. However, hitchhiking is still quite easy and waiting times short. --Alex 10:00, 16 April 2008 (CEST)

Spain is more or less okay, I hitched all the way through Barselona to Cadiz via Madrid and from Madrid to Paris. I spent hours to get ride but all drivers were exellent - hippies, artists and photorgaphers. About Afganistan it's better to ask Belzas. He was there at least two times and he definitely got something to say. :) Siberian explorer 02:33, 5 December 2010 (CET):

Waiting for hours every time is what I would call "bad", especially when there's lots of traffic. Even worse when you're next to a university (e.g. Valencia), a kind of place where I would expect to wait 2 minutes in Germany. guaka 00:06, 6 December 2010 (CET)
Seems like I'm more patient. If I stood less than 1 day and finally got a car it's okay for me. :) Siberian explorer 12:37, 6 December 2010 (CET):
Wow... It really depends on the number of cars, but if it's busy I get impatient in less than 30 minutes :) If there's no traffic I don't mind so much. But I like to plan my hitches, and it usually works out well when I'm hitching on known territory (i.e. Western Europe). guaka 15:02, 6 December 2010 (CET)
Anybody is interested in references about Central Asia(Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan)? Should I write it here or directly in article? Siberian explorer 15:52, 6 December 2010 (CET):
You mean ratings? Just wait a little, we are just building a nice site-wide ranking system. That should make everything much easier. --MrTweek 16:04, 6 December 2010 (CET)
