Iqaluit is the capital city of Nunavut and the tinyest of such in Canada. With a population around 6000 inhabitants, this town located on the Baffin Island is only accessible by air and by sea according to the ice conditions which makes it a remote place and hitching is not really possible as its transportation network only stretch of about a kilometer outside town.

A real adventurer could consider trying to 'hitch' or reach Iqaluit from the mainland of Quebec when the straight freeze by winter, but such things would anyway be reserved to experimented explorer and not for anybody.

Snowmobiles is a prefered way of transportation in Iqaluit as well in everywhere else in the 'Great North', this allow you a higher flexibility of transportation through the frozen land.

Most settlements were built by military at the lowest material cost to be exclusively fonctionnal mainly because of the cost of material importation, which does not bring any particular interest towards architecture. The interests in the area remains in the large unspoiled nordic landscape, midnight sun and other natural interests.
