Achinsk (Russian: Ачинск) is a city in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, the administrative center of Achinsky District and Achinsk Urban Okrug. It is located on the Chulym River, 160 km west of Krasnoyarsk, at the intersection with the Trans-Siberian Railway. It is the third most populated settlement in Krasnoyarsk Krai, after Krasnoyarsk and Norilsk.

Hitchhiking out
East towards Krasnoyarsk via A255
- Take bus 5 to the point where it turns left from Dzerzhinskogo Street into Vostochny settlement. Then continue straight along Dzerzhinskogo, with the hitchhiking spot around 800 meters past the traffic lights. Alternatively, take bus 116 directly to these traffic lights (the bus goes further to Malinovka).
West towards Mariinsk and Kemerovo via A255
- Take the tram to AGK, get off near the mentioned cafés (they will be on the right, one is called “Merkuriy”).
South towards Uzhur and Troitskoe via regional road 04K-003
- Buses 1, 6, 7, 116, 117 to the stop "Yuzhnaya promzona" (South Industrial Zone), right after the overpass.
North towards Achinsk Oil Refinery
- Along Neftyanikov highway.
Hitchhiking in
Passing through Achinsk is best done by using the bypass road ("city stop" style): From east to west – at the first traffic light turn left, continue a few kilometers past the forest and cemetery, then right into a residential area on Prigorodnaya Street, which becomes an overpass above the railway. Continue straight along 5th July Street. After two kilometers, you’ll see an overpass above with the road to Nazarovo. Keep going straight. Two more kilometers later you’ll hit Kravchenko Street with tram rails – turn right here. After four hundred meters, turn left where there are several cafés – this is the hitching spot to Bogotol, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk. In reverse, use the same reference points.
