Tikhoretsk (Russian: Тихорецк) is a major transport hub in Krasnodar Krai in the south of Russia.

• It is located 150 km northeast of Krasnodar and 165 km southeast of Rostov-on-Don, almost halfway between Rostov and Krasnodar.
• Two rivers, Tikhonkaya and Chelbas, flow near the city.
• Two major railways pass through the city: Rostov-on-Don — Makhachkala and Volgograd — Krasnodar.
• The federal highway R217 "Kavkaz" and regional roads towards Salsk and Krasnodar converge in the city.
• The city can be used for transferring between the railway and the highway.

Transit on "Kavkaz" highway towards Krasnodar

• If you do not need to go to the train station or the city, it is easier to hitchhike around the city using the bypass road that circles Tikhoretsk from the north.

South towards Kropotkin, Armavir, and Nevinnomyssk on R217

• There is a traffic police post at the intersection of the "Kavkaz" highway and Promyshlennaya Street. The final stop "MSO" is 1.5 km from the post. From the train station, take marshrutka (minibus) 13 or 113. Or bus 110 from the bus station goes directly to the post.
• Slightly north is the turn onto Achkasova Street. From the train station, take bus 33 to the last stop, then walk 700 meters.

North towards Rostov-on-Don and Voronezh on R217 and M4

• The "Don" and "Kavkaz" highways merge in Pavlovskaya village. It makes sense to take a bus there from the bus station. The bus station in Pavlovskaya is right at the junction.
• The traffic light at the intersection of R217 and Grazhdanskaya Street. There is no public transport here, it is a 4 km walk from the station.

West towards Krasnodar

• You need to get to the settlement of Kamenny. Buses 100 and 103 to the "Sady Viktoria" stop. 600 meters from the stop is the weight control post.
• Bus 100 can take you further, through the large village of Novorozhdestvenskaya to the "Chelbas" station; you can also reach this station by suburban train towards Krasnodar. The highway is near the platform.

East towards Salsk and Volgograd

• Bus 110 from the bus station to the turn to the village of Ternovskaya. Wide shoulder, no street lights.
• If you do not want to go that far on bus 110, you can exit at the traffic police post at the turnoff from the "Kavkaz" highway. There is a "No stopping" sign at the corner, but 100 meters ahead is a bus stop. There are no street lights.
