Kropotkin (Russian: Кропоткин) is a city in Russia, located in Krasnodar Krai. It is the administrative center of Kavkazsky District and lies on the right bank of the Kuban River, 133 km northeast of the regional capital Krasnodar. Founded in the 19th century as Romanovsky khutor, the city was renamed in 1921 after Russian geographer and anarchist Pyotr Kropotkin. The "Kavkaz" highway (R217) passes near the city. The railway station is important, as it serves many suburban and passenger trains; this article focuses on how to get from the station to the highway for hitchhiking.

Hitchhiking out
South towards Nevinnomyssk via R217
- Roundabout on the turn to Gulkevichi. There is no police post. Buses 117, 171, 173, and 173a from the bus station go there.
North towards Rostov-on-Don and Moscow via R217
- Any bus along Krasnaya Street to the traffic light at the intersection with the highway.
- If the ticket office across the road makes you uncomfortable, you can walk forward on the overpass across the railway, and there will be a triangle at the turn to the gas station and roofing center.
West towards Krasnodar and east towards Stavropol
- You can try hitchhiking from the traffic lights, about 4 km to the interchange with Magistralnaya Street.
- On the west exit of the interchange, there is a wide shoulder, but no streetlights.
- On the eastern exit, walk to the end of the acceleration lane. According to Yandex Panorama, people are already hitchhiking there.
