If your ride only takes the Western Ring anyhow (from Gent or the south), you can ask to be left at the Exit 16 and gain the Metro 1b, stations 'Eddy Merckx' or 'Ceria' which are at footsteps.

If the driver goes to the East of Brussels, ask to be dropped at Delta.
If the driver goes the West of Brussels, ask to be dropped at Drogenbos exit. It comes right after the rest area (Total petrol station) of Ruisbroek. Walk five minutes and you’ll be at the beginning of tram line 4, which goes to the center.
