Mdsmendes is also active on hospitality exchange networks such as [http://www.hospitalityclub.org/ HospitalityClub] and [http://www.couchsurfing.com/ CouchSurfing].
He was born in [[Lisboa]], [[Portugal]], and has lived there most of his life except for a small period in [[Barcelona]] So far he has travelled a bit through [[Europe]]. Only about 9600km hitchhiking.. Much more to come!

==Future Present Travelling==
After working during the summer of 2007 to raise money, Miguel is now travelling for a year in South, Central and North America. First of all he's volunteering at an orphanage close to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, called [http://www.casadocaminhobrasil.org/ Casa do Caminho].

On the 15th of February 2007 a friend and I had our longest ride ever: from Nîmes to Cologne, it was something around 1130 km :)
My longest wait was in [[France]] where I stayed at a gas station for 2 hours. Not much, I know.
Total land covered? Around 9600 km. The Americas will add some more.
