==Other option to get to Peagehighway==
To get to the peage (pay toll) by public bus, the best is to take the line nb3, direction Pascot. Get out on the last stop, then walk until the end of "avenue Pascot", then go left on "route de canohes" until you see the big road (road D900). Go on right and follow this road for few hundred metters untill the toll.
From this toll you can easyly get a lift to north or south. There is a international fruit and vegetable market (saint charles market) close to this toll and , many truck trucks coming from there are entering the hightway here. and there are going as well to Spain or France
If you go to Toulouse, better to use a sign and accept only lift going to this city, because 60 km more north in Narbonne, the hightway spilt in two parts, if your driver goes to north you will have to stop on small rest area where finding a ride to Toulouse will be hard. The same if you go to Montpellier, don't accept a lift to someone going on Toulouse direction.
If you go to spain and your driver only goes to Boulou (witch is the last exit befor spain), don't get out on the last petrol station "village catalan", on the map it look the last best place to hitchhike but no one going to spain stop here because gas is cheaper on the otherside of the border. So go to "boulou" but ask your driver drop you out at the big peage where all the traffic have to stop, not at the small one whitch is use only by local to get in and out the highway.
