Kostroma (Russian: Кострома) is a city on the "Golden Ring" in the European part of Russia. It is a major port on the Volga River and the administrative center of Kostroma Oblast.

Southwest towards Yaroslavl via M8

  • The most convenient way to get from the city to the M8 is by taking minibus #66 from the city center to the "Motordetal" stop. There is a stationary traffic police post about one kilometer straight ahead on the highway.

South towards Ivanovo, Suzdal, Vladimir via M7

  • To reach the Volgorechensk junction, walk about 800 meters from Radiozavodskaya Street. Buses #22, 25 and minibuses #57, 94 go there.

East towards Sudislavl, Manturovo, Verkhnespasskoe via R98

  • Buses #102 and 103 to the "Dorstroy" stop.

Northeast towards Susanino, Buy via R99

  • Go to the final stop "Gorodok" using buses #13 and 21 or minibuses #46 and 99.
