Hitchhiking out
Northwest towards Konya, Ankara
To head towards Kazımkarabekir, Konya, or Ankara, you need to get onto the Ankara Road. You can either walk 1.5 km from the city center to reach the bus terminal junction, or use the minibuses and municipal buses going towards the bus terminal. It is best to start hitchhiking just after passing the bus terminal junction.
South towards Mersin, Adana
For directions to Mut, Ermenek, Anamur, Silifke, Mersin, or Adana, you need to get to Silifke Road. You can do this by taking minibuses or municipal buses towards the bus terminal and starting to hitchhike just after passing the bus terminal junction. Alternatively, it is possible to walk 1.5 km from the city center following Mut Street to reach further down on the Karaman-Silifke Road and start hitchhiking from there.
East towards Ereğli, Niğde, Kayseri, Adana
If you are heading to Ayrancı, Ereğli, Niğde, Kayseri, Pozantı, or Adana, you need to get onto Ereğli Road. You can walk 1.5 km from the city center, or take minibuses and municipal buses heading to Bahçelievler District or the Organized Industrial Zone, and start hitchhiking from where the city ends.
Although for Adana it is mainly recommended to follow the southern route instructions, you can also use the eastern route if you prefer. The eastern route is a bit shorter, and the Karaman-Ereğli stretch is suitable yet less trafficked for hitchhiking. After Ereğli, traffic becomes much busier.
North towards Kılbasan
For Kılbasan, Hotamış, or Karapınar, you need to get onto the Kılbasan Road. You can take minibuses or municipal buses towards Larende District and start hitchhiking from the end of the neighborhood. Please note, this route has very little traffic and is not very suitable for hitchhiking.
Southwest towards Ermenek
To go to Bucakkışla, Ermenek, or Sarıveliler, get onto Bucakkışla Road. You can walk 1.5 km from the center to reach the bus terminal junction, or take minibuses or municipal buses towards the bus terminal and start hitchhiking just after passing the bus terminal junction. However, this route has low traffic density.
