Hitchhiking out
Northwest towards Trabzon, Giresun, Samsun, Ankara
To go towards Torul, Maçka, Trabzon, Rize; Kürtün, Giresun, Ordu, Samsun, and Ankara, you need to get to Trabzon Road.
The Erzurum-Trabzon transit road passes through the center of Gümüşhane. There are only two main streets in the city, and one of them is the Erzurum-Trabzon road. You can reach this road and, after a total of 15 minutes walking from the city center, arrive at the point where the houses end and start hitchhiking from there. Alternatively, you can take the minibuses operated by Fatih Koop which run along the Erzurum-Trabzon transit road and start hitchhiking anywhere before arriving at Hacıemin neighborhood.
For the Kürtün, Giresun, Ordu, Samsun, and Ankara direction, the road splits after passing the district of Torul.
Southeast towards Bayburt, Erzurum, Erzincan
To go towards Bayburt, Erzurum, Köse, Kelkit, Şiran, and Erzincan, you need to get to Erzurum Road. You can take the minibuses operated by Fatih Koop that run along the Erzurum-Trabzon transit road, get off in front of the University, and start hitchhiking after a short walk.
The road towards Köse, Kelkit, Şiran, and Erzincan splits from Erzurum Road at the 15th kilometer.
