Hitchhiking out
North towards Münster and East towards Hannover
In Bottrop, take bus #979 towards Heinrich-Heine-Strasse. Get out there and you'll see the motorway, just walk towards it and you find a service station in direction East.
West towards Venlo
Note that the service station is only existing towards East. With the discription as above you can go there and cross the bridge over the motorway if you plan to head West to the Netherlands or Belgium, but there is only a small parking spot without a gas station. The traffic is quite poor and most cars are from nearby cities, but as there are no better alternatives nearby you can still try from here and with a little bit of patience it should work out well.
