Arzamas (Russian: Арзамас) is a city in Russia, located in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, 112 km south of Nizhny Novgorod on the R158 highway.

Hitchhiking out
South towards Saransk, Penza, and Saratov via R158
The closest point to the bypass road is the stop "18th Line (Kirillovsky)", which is reachable by city buses No. 9 and 10A from Sobornaya Square. From the stop, it is 300 meters by footpath to the highway.
North towards Nizhny Novgorod via R158
- via Gorkovskoye Highway. The bus stop No. 12 is called "Exit to Highway".
- via Kazanskaya Street and the Bypass Road. From the "Arzamas-2" station on foot, or from Sobornaya Square take buses No. 1 or 4 to the stop "st. Arzamas-3". Kazanskaya Street starts right by the stop after the level crossing. After 1.5 km you will see an exit stele, after 3 km a crossroads with the Bypass Road.
Go through the settlement Vyyezdnoye. Take bus No. 5 to the stop "Vegetable Drying Plant". There are several petrol stations at the city exit, about 1 km from the stop.
To the "Vostok" Expressway M12
Leave towards Nizhny Novgorod via R158. Many buses and minibuses pass through the interchange with M12; the stop is called "Vodopry".
