North towards Rize, Trabzon, Ankara

To go in the direction of Borçka, Hopa, Rize, Trabzon, or Ankara, you need to get onto the Hopa Road. You can go down to the bank of the Çoruh River from the city center and start hitchhiking from anywhere you like up to the tunnel entrances.

South towards Erzurum

To head towards Yusufeli, Tortum, or Erzurum, you should get to the Erzurum Road. From the city center, go down to the bank of the Çoruh River, walk about 500 meters to the Küçük Sanayi Sitesi junction, and start hitchhiking from there.

East towards Ardahan
