Go to Avinguda del Cid, and cross the bridge and acctually the A3 starts from here, but the problem is, that you cannot go there, there are fances everywhere. You can chose to hitchhike before the bridge where there is a busstop or place for the cars to stop, or try this place [http://maps.google.com/maps?near=39.472222,-0.431092]. It is under the "bridge" that crosses abowe the A3, and there are two petrol stations, and lot of cars pass there (though, a lot of them are going to Manises). I've waited for a little more than an hour, but in Spain I usually count that you have to wait at least an hour.
