Once I called Greyhound to buy a ticket from Portland, Maine to Quebec City. They tried to route me through Boston and Montreal! That was in 1998; I've been a long-distance hitchhiker ever since.
I've hitched in just about every country in Europe, several in the Middle East and all around North America (including Alaska). I have a lot of experience in Britain, having lived there for nearly four years -- I've hitched from Sutherland, Scotland to Cornwall -- so hit me up with any questions. I know the M1 and M6 better than I'd like to.
