Talk:Winter

Hey, this winter will be my first winter-trip, including crossing the cold Alps and going into the Balkans. Guess some essential things are logical (gloves, scarf, a lot of warm clothes, etc), but are there any other important/useful things one can carry with while hitchhiking several days through the cold?
