Hitchhike to Paris on 888...08082008...
First, there was the "[[Tokyo|TOKYO]]" hitchhiking sign that two hitchhikers drew to go back from Rotterdam to Lille...
Then, there were the free plane tickets to "Tokyo" that Erik Van Loon offered to the two hitchhikers.
But they called him back too late...
But N-O-W: the "Tokyo" project is getting bigger...and bigger...
We need you all to organize a hitchhiking journey to the Eiffel Tower from every single country in Europe.
Let's organize "the" official "European Hitchhiking Day" together!
We need you to show to the world that hitchhiking is a safe and fun social means of transportation...
The goal We will gather in front of the checkpoint cities is Eiffel Tower, at this [http://turl.ca/888 exact location]: from anytime during the day until around 23:00 (or later even maybe). We are still calling for adventurous hosts from Paris to help hitchhikers through their journey through evening meetingsThe goal show up and spontaneously host all of having several rings is to ensure that we help hitchhikers us - but you might want to progressively get to Paris in all safety.bring your tent!

There will be volunteers helping hitchhikers leave any given city __TOC__The '''888 Project''' seeks to ask you to hitchhike from all corners of Europe and beyond (whether from [[Belfast]], [[Istanbul]], [[Helsinki]] or [[Lisbon]]) to arrive at the Eiffel Tower - this world-renowned French lighthouse - in [[Paris]] on any given ring 888, August 8th, 2008. Participate in the first European Hitchhiking Week and Day and take part in the open space day on Saturday: "How to live a nomad-life", on the actual hitchhiking spot at dawn. The volunteers will provide hitchhikers , sustainable travel and hospitality exchange, with tips games, workshops, skill-sharing and adviceknowledge exchange.

Every evening, in any given city, there will be an evening meeting.
People who do not have any accomodation and find a place to stay.
Hitchhikers can exchange good stories and share tips and advice.
