====The Palais de Tokyo Hitchhiking Race====
On December 3rd, 2007, Erik Van Loon, a Dutch artist, called his two friends Pascal Dumond and Fabrice Renucci and told them that their Tokyo hitchhiking sign had inspired him to create a Hitchhiking Race to the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. His idea was actually to tell people that it was race to Tokyo, Japan before telling them that it was actually going to be organized in Paris.
====The free Tokyo plane tickets====
On December 4th, 2007, Erik Van Loon the Dutch artist was offered three plane tickets to "Tokyo" from a friend of his. He gave Fabrice and Pascal a call around 2 a.m. asking them to call him back before 10a.m. if they wanted to go to Tokyo with him. Fabrice did not check his messages before noon. As for Pascal, he actually checked his voicemail shortly after 2 a.m. but did not call back Erik since he was sure that it was a joke (especially after the previous two events).
