Malmö (Malmo) is a city in the South West southwest of Sweden. It is very close to Copenhagen, to which it is connected by a bridge. There are also ferries between Malmö and Travemünde in Germany.
There are a couple of hostels and the public transport is quite good in the centre.{| align="right" | __TOC__ |}

==== Behind Midhems "The motorway begins next to the McDonalds"in the neighborhood Midhem, Malmö ====where cars enter from two directions. Stand several meters in front of the motorway sign. McDonalds or Statoil can provide you with cardboard for writing a sign, which is essential for getting a lift in the right direction.
This is a really good spot to get North. Make a sign (McDonald's or Statoil can provide you with needed material). There are traffic lights just before the motorway-sign at the on-ramp with lots space for cars to stop. Take rides past Helsingborg only - then you will get past the motorway knot E4/E6; you can also accept a ride to the rest area at Glumslöv (which comes before Helsingborg). If you go with the second alternative, which probably is the best, you should write "Helsingborg" on the sign. Liftarkungen find it easier to attract rides from the "asphalt island" where the traffic lights are. From there you can establish eye contact and "communicate" with the drivers, especially when they wait for a green signal. Just be careful when you crossing the street, according to a rumor a hitchhiker once was deadly hit by a car on this spot.
If For going north/northwest, take rides past Helsingborg only – then you want to go on will get past the E22 you should ask for motorway knot E4/E6. You can also accept a lift ride to Kristianstad.If you´re going to Lund the rest area at Glumslöv (or Landskronawhich comes before Helsingborg) , and if you go with this, which probably is the best, you should write the city name "Helsingborg" on the sign right away.
==== Glumslöv-reas area, E6 and E20 ====If you want to go on the E22 you write "Kristianstad" on your sign.
It is situated 40 km north of Malmö and is good both for heading north or south. If trying you're going to go south to Denmark this might be the place to change car before Lund (or Landskrona) you end up inside should write the big cities of Malmö or Lund. Its possible to reach Glumslöv by train from many cities along city name on the southwest coastsign right away.
Note that the main route to Stockholm is the E4. The E22 also goes towards Stockholm, but it is a slow, scenic route that can add as much as a day to your travel time.
West towards Copenhagen = Glumslöv rest area, E6 and Denmark and South towards Skanör/Falsterbo E20 =
Walk on Nobelvägen in the direction This is situated 40 km north of Dalaplan Malmö and Mobilia shopping centeris good both for heading north or south. When If trying to go south to Denmark this might be the place to change cars before you reach Dalaplan, Nobelvägen changes name to Trelleborgsvägen, but continue until next end up inside the big cross where Trelleborgsvägen meets Stadiongatancities of Malmö or Lund. Just before Stadiongatan there is a big bus stop that It is possible to hitch reach Glumslöv by train from. On a Sunday afternoon i waited 30 minutes for a lift to Denmark (sign with DK written on it).I would assume it is possible to hitch to other locations to the north which many cities along the motorway is connectedsouthwest coast.
Almost everything except alcohol is cheaper in Sweden compared to Denmark, so it could be a good idea to eat before you start your journey to Denmark. Malmö is famous for its cheap and tasty falafels and there is a few restaurants along Nobelvägen. On the opposite side of the crossroad Trelleborgsvägen turns into a real motorway ([http://maps.google.se/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=sv&geocode=&q=stadiongatan&sll=55.551195,13.000807&sspn=0.008035,0.019011&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Stadiongatan,+Malm%C3%B6,+Sk%C3%A5ne+L%C3%A4n&ll=55.57832,13.006643&spn=0.004015,0.009506&t=h&z=17 mapWest towards Copenhagen (Denmark) and many danish cars passing here. 20, South towards LiftarkungenSkanör prefers to stand on the shoulder of the motorway, right after the stoplights, but there is other alternatives close by. Using a sign is necessary since the motorway splits in many different directions. Falsterbo 6 22 ===
- A way Option 1: Walk on Nobelvägen in the direction of Dalaplan and Mobilia shopping center. When you reach Dalaplan, Nobelvägen changes name to get over Öresundsbron Trelleborgsvägen, but continue until next big cross where Trelleborgsvägen meets Stadiongatan. Just before Stadiongatan there is a big bus stop that is possible to Copenhagenhitch from. Use a sign that says "Denmark". Option 2:Take You can also take bus number 5 (eastwards)6 towards Klagshamn and get of at the stop Ollebo. Walk left towards the roundabout and stand just after it. Worked within 10 minutes Once again a sign with 'Denmark' is very helpful. An even better place is to walk across the times I've triedroundabout and through the tunnel to the highway entrance. A lot of space for cars to stop, they come in a slow speed and they are all going to Denmark. The best place to get to Denmark from Malmö.  == Trashwiki & Nomadwiki == trash:Milano nomad:Milano
