I have just been here for about a week or so Jan 2007 - and found my first little experience to be so bloody easy it was not funny, these people may think all westerners have money, but you stick out your thumb and then you realise they know what it is like to do it too, its not an uncommon thing to have done over the past 30 years if you get my drift, just look at the history....

Latvia is a Baltic country. There are a lot of hitchhikers and hitchhiking is fairly easy. Even in the middle of nowhere, along important route, even the E67 (Via Baltica), it's quite easy to get a ride.
