* [http://findacrew.net Find a Crew] is by far the largest website for finding crew and boats. As a free member you can only browse partial profiles (not true, you can do all things for free except exchanging personal messages with other free members) and "wave" to captains - if they have a paid account, they can then start a message conversation with you; if they have a free account like you, they can only "wave" back (not true - they can confirm mutual interest or decline). You can also just hope that captains scouring the site for crew will find your (rather detailed) profile (not true - your detailed profile is automatically matched with an advanced instantly calculated algorithm and every member sees their own personalised list of members in their 'QuickFind' search, sorted in order of best match - no other crew site offers this. This is not promoting this, it's just a fact), but unless you have sailing experience or the captain is attracted to you (what a bigotry, misogynist, chauvinistic statement!), this is probably a long shot.
{sorry for the inserts, but [[User:Treefrog]] keeps removing my factual, relevant, and extented corrections, which he is likley to keep doing.He asks me for his permission to contribute here, but overwrites anything he doesn't like without anyones input}
* [http://crewbay.com CrewBay] has much fewer boats than Find a Crew, but still quite a few, and you can do most things for free. It does have some premium paid features, but you can easily get by without them. [[User:Treefrog]] found a boat from Florida to Panama this way, and his crewmates also found the boat using free CrewBay accounts.
