Sundsvall is a town of 50 000 inhabitants located in the middle of Sweden.

North

Your best chances to hitch towards North is to find a highway ramp in Skönsberg (zoom in on the map to the right).

South

For going south on the E4 you can stand next to the road behind the central station. Cars can stop on the hard shoulder. A far better place is in Njurunda ("Njurundabommen") but it is located 17 km outside the city center. In Njurunda there is a gasstation just after a speedcamera which ensures that the cars drive slowly and there is plenty of space for them to stop.
