Hitchhiking out
South towards Vologda, Yaroslavl, Moscow via M8
- A good spot is the traffic police post after the Novodvinsk interchange, as well as the bus stop in the village Dorozhnikov, 500 m past the post. Bus No. 144 from the Marine River Terminal goes to Novodvinsk. Bus No. 163 goes to Belomorye. From the Novodvinsk bus, get off at the "Zeleny Bor" stop (2.5 km to the traffic police post); a similarly named minibus can be asked to stop at the ascent to the Novodvinsk overpass, which saves 1.5 km of walking. To Belomorye, get off at the Dorozhnikov settlement and hitchhike right from the stop—do not go further. The first ride should be at least to the fork at Kholmogory (81st km of the highway).
West towards Severodvinsk and Onega via "Arkhangelsk Highway"
- The turnoff from the M8 is past the village Pirsy, right after the Arkhangelsk bridge. After the intersection (already on the Arkhangelsk Highway), there is the "Pirsy" bus stop for buses No. 105, 106, 133, 138, 150, 153, 25, 31, 81. Minibus 133E goes directly to Severodvinsk.
North towards the village of Talagi and further to Patrakeevka, Lapominka, Izhma, and the "Grib diamond deposit" via Talazhskoye Highway
- A good position is considered the pontoon crossing over the Lodma River, accessible by bus No. 136. After the crossing, bus No. 180 turns off. Bus No. 124 to Chasovenskaya village goes several more kilometers north and turns to Izhma.
- You can also hitchhike from the Neftbaza - Airport junction, which can be reached by buses No. 12 and 134 from the Marine River Terminal.
