Hitchhiking out

South towards Rennes

Take the bus to "Aquarium". Just after the roundabout, where the road merges with the road from the north. Cars don't go very fast and there is some space to stop, though visibility isn't the best. Even if you don't go to Rennes, the best is still to have a sign saying "Rennes" or "Direction Rennes". Even if you have to wait a little, you will for sure find a ride, as there are loads of car going here and some are for sure going to Rennes or at least in the direction.

Ferry to Guernsey and Jersey

The ferries don't seem to be hitchable as you pay per person, not just per vehicle.

Other useful info

Beware of the seagulls, don't leave any food unattended or they will steal it. Don't give them food on purpose, because it encourages them to attack people to give them food.
