Euskirchen is the district capital of the district of the same name in the southern Rhineland, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), with over 55,000 inhabitants.

The native language of the original Euskirchen inhabitants was and still is Eifeler Plattdeutsch, which is characteristically different from Kölsch (Cologne dialect).

Hitchhiking out

Near the A61, there are the service stations Peppenhoven Ost and Peppenhoven West.

Note!: From the B56, there is no motorway access to the A61 in the direction of Koblenz (south)! Instead, there is the rest area Peppenhoven West nearby.
