Goryachy Klyuch (Russian: Горячий Ключ) is a city in Russia in Krasnodar Krai, located approximately halfway between Krasnodar and the Black Sea coast. The municipal district includes not only the city itself (mostly consisting of private houses) but also many rural settlements and stanitsas.

All points of interest for tourists are compactly located in the Sanatorium Park, best accessed from the highway by the pedestrian bridge near the Old Castle. There are large parking areas on both sides of the road there. Going to the city center only makes sense for supermarkets and canteens; there is little reason to visit other parts of the city.

Hitchhiking out

South towards Dzhubga and Gelendzhik via M4/E97

• Spacious pull-off at the turn to the Zarechye district. Reachable by Zarechye minibuses or on foot from the city center via the pedestrian bridge near the furniture factory.
• Acceleration lane at the end of the Goryachy Klyuch overpass, with guardrail and streetlights. Access by minibuses heading to the station.
• Between the overpass and the hotel "Stary Zamok" there are several speed cameras. The shoulder is wide and lit. If you were in the Sanatorium Park, you can hitchhike right opposite the Castle.

North towards Adygeysk and Krasnodar via M4/E97

• Option 1: From the bus station, walk along Promyshlennaya St. to the highway. There is a 24-hour carwash with a spacious lay-by towards Krasnodar at the turn.
• Option 2: From the city center, take a minibus towards the railway station and get off before the interchange. The minibus will turn under the overpass, and you need to walk right to the end of the overpass and hitchhike from the acceleration lane. There is a guardrail along the shoulder, but there are streetlights. It's about 1.5 km from the city administration to this spot on foot.
• Option 3: From Sanatorium Park, exit via the pedestrian bridge towards the "Stary Zamok" restaurant-hotel. There is a wide shoulder, an unused police post, and a speed limit enforced by cameras.

East towards Khadyzhensk via R000

• Look for minibuses to the "Razvilka" district.

Hitchhiking in

• The railway station is outside the city, just north of the M-4 overpass. Buses and minibuses run to the city. Almost all long-distance trains stop here. It's the terminus for commuter trains from Krasnodar and Tuapse.
• The bus station is in the eastern part of the city, at the intersection of Khadyzhenskoye Highway and Yaroslavskogo St. The area is called "Razvilka" and is not of interest for tourists.
• If you are interested in the sights described on Wikivoyage (Dante Canyon, springs, mineral water sources, gazebos, and viewpoint over the river), it is better to hitchhike or take any bus towards the sea and get off near the "Stary Zamok" hotel-restaurant. From there, you cross the pedestrian bridge directly into Sanatorium Park, where all the interesting places are concentrated. The bus from Krasnodar is not convenient for this purpose.

• Cafe-canteen "Arbat" near the city entrance, opposite the Lukoil gas station; enter the courtyards of the apartment blocks. Open daily 08:00–17:00. Food is considered tastier than other canteens. Two toilets with washbasins available.
• Canteen at 70 Chernyakhovskogo St., behind the "Magnit" supermarket, visible right after you leave the main square. Tel. +7–918–270–52–53, open 8:00–19:00. Popular for cheap prices—lunch in 2018 cost just 150 RUB.
