Hitchhiking out

South towards Mocoa , San Juan del Pasto and Ecuador

It is very easy to hitch a ride to Pitalito, just stand at the entrance of town right next to the speed bump and you shouldn't have to wait very long. Ask to be dropped off at intersection right before Pitalito, from there walk a little further up the road leading to Mocoa and you'll see a succession of speed bumps. Lots of trucks are heading South to Mocoa or even San Juan del Pasto.

Accommodation and Sleep

If you're planning on staying for a few days or weeks, look into volunteering opportunities. There are a lot of farms, owned by a Colombian/European couples, who take in people in exchange for a few hours of walk.
