Raleigh/Durham is a metropolitan area in North Carolina that includes the closely related cities of Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Cary. The area can be quite a mess for hitchhiking due to extensive suburban sprawl and may require short hop rides to get out of.

North towards Roxboro
Stand along US 501 just north of the intersection of . You may have to accept several short hop rides to get all the way up to Virginia.
South/East towards Wilmington
If you can get to the intersection of business US 70 (coming out of Garner) and , this is a good ramp to go south on.
