The roundabout at Abington Services is a good place to catch a lift south, or north to Edinburgh or Glasgow. Traffic will be heading in one of those three directions. The on ramps to the M74 (GB) have space to stand on. There is also a petrol station and rest area where drivers can be asked for lifts.
