Heredia is a university town ~20 km north-west of [[San José (Costa Rica)|San José]]. It is the capital of the smallest province of [[Costa Rica]].

It s pretty easy to hitchhike out of Heredia to the west and hit the [[Panamerican highway]]. You can even try to get to the [[toll station]] close to the airport and continue from there.

Buses to [[Alajuela]] and San Jose departuring every 5 - 10 minutes.
