Heredia is a university town ~20 km north-west of San José. It is the capital of the smallest province of Costa Rica.
Hitchhiking out
North/West towards Liberia, Puntarenas
It s pretty easy to hitchhike out of Heredia to the west and hit the Panamerican highway. You can even try to get to the toll station close to the airport and continue from there.
