Jersey is southernmost island of the [[Channel islandsIslands]] group just offshore Brittany and Normandy in [[France]]. Despite its location near the french coast, the Bailliwick of Jersey remains a private property to the British Crown therefore it holds an independent status inside the [[United Kingdom]].
Jersey is also the biggest island of the group and the most visited one too, the capital and main harbour is St.Hellier.
