For heading south to the mountainsThe town is not that big, use Blvd des Perolles and so you can easily walk to the very end, where around. Yet the 2 streets come together. After walking distance between the roundabout two on-ramps is a good spotabout 5km.

Place for cars to hitchhike from therestop in both directions. Theres another drive==== on-ramp Fribourg-in Sud ====About 2km west of the motorway center. More traffic than the other spot but no place to stop for cars (Fribourg Südwithout blocking traffic) which you should prefer. We tried the southern on-ramp but there is no place for cars to stop so we gave up after less than 1h. At the old "Jumbo" northern on- much more ramp there was way less traffic towards Bern but there but the spot is not great.
