The Vyšné Nemecké-Uzhhorod border crossing is a road crossing between Slovakia and Ukraine on the E50 road.
Walking across is not allowed, so make sure to hitch a car before crossing. On the Ukrainian side, you can try asking the officer at the first checkpoint to flag down a car for you.
Long waits are common, especially when entering Slovakia. Be prepared for your bag to be searched and do not exceed the tobacco/alcohol allowance since smuggling is widespread.
The crossing is open 24/7 and to all passport holders.
