I live in the middle of nowhere in France currently so have to hitch most places.
At first I was scared to hitch alone, but now I kinda like it, and it's my best opportunity to parler le francais... (that's speak French for those of you who don't know...)
I've hitched in England, Spain, Morocco and France BUT I plan on hitching many other places. I definitely been bitten by the bug - it's sociable and cheap - wonderful!
Also, what I find interesting about hitching is that the more money you seem to have the quicker you'll be picked up...
I try to carry some sort of expensive looking item on me at all times... I know it's kinda beside the point of hitching, but it definitly works... plus - being a girl really really does help.
