This motorway is full of foreign cars, there are lots of tourist from western Europe and specially France. Therefore, you can expect a lot of cars in summer, and winter in a minor way. If you do not speak spanish, this would be a smaller problem in this motorway. Usually cars head toward vacation places in the seaside.
A practical implication of this is for example that, coming from France, lots of cars head towards Lloret de Mar (exit 9).
You should take care of the divisions of AP-7 with A7, which means is a not-paying motorway in the section south from Murcia.
It is the easiest motorway to hitch-hike in Spain because foreigners are more likely to take you, as spanish people are not used to see hitchhikers and they do not use to speak english either.
